'Commander' is a 12m GRP South Cat designed and manufactured by South Boats Special Projects Ltd specifically for the Hampshire Police Marine Unit. This proven hull design is used for a multitude of commercial applications providing excellent performance and durability. The addition of the fly-deck increases the vessel's versatility offering an excellent vantage point and dual control. Navigation
The comprehensive electronics package fitted to this vessel is mainly Simrad comprising:

Mechanical
Two FPT (Iveco) 6 cylinder turbo charged diesel engines rated at 420HP each with Twin Disc MGX 'Quickshift' remote 'V' drive gearboxes. Each engine runs 24v alternator charging systems to each of the battery banks. A history of engine servicing is reportedly available.

Engine Hours: circa 5000 hrs

Tankage:

Accommodation
From forward -

CABINS: A double berth in both (P+S) hull forward and storage areas below. Lined and upholstered to a good standard with a escape / ventilation hatch above each cabin. HEADS are located aft of each sleeping compartment with electric flushing toilet and wash/hand basin (H&C). Steps to WHEELHOUSE: Full width console, central helm and offset (S) navigator positions, engine controls and essential switches between the suspension seating. Excellent visibility laterally and spatially through large windows around the wheelhouse. Two monitoring desks amidships with consoles for computer and surveillance equipment installations. The GALLEY is located aft (S) with stainless steel sink, H&C, Storage and Zip boiler. To port is an 'L' shape settee for four persons with pedestal table. Wheelhouse door offset to (S) COCKPIT: Flush and open rear deck with integral flush engine hatches (P&S). Gated transom for launch and recovery of a 4m RIB secured to the after deck when in transit. The island wheelhouse affords good access amidships and forward with stainless steel rails atop the gunwhales to MCA conformities. Stainless steel steps aft of the wheelhouse provide access to the FLY-DECK: with dual engine and steering controls and an electronic multi-screen for information exchange from the main systems below. Excellent panoramic vision is afforded from this location. A large gantry mast mounted at the aft end of the deck supports the antenna, CCTV and radar scanners on two levels.
