Sigma - 38

Sailing BoatsSigmaModel 38United Kingdom

Remarks :

Sigma 38 racer-cruiser for sale.  Originally owned by Owen Asher, this classic David Thomas-designed fast cruiser was produced as a One-Design and, for many, was an out and out racer.  However, these are also a comfortable and sea-kindly offshore cruising yacht with ample accommodation for large groups or families.
Specified with wheel steering, tall rig and deep keel she is an excellent balance in design.  Whilst ready to deliver an impressively sporty racing performance round the cans, she will also not tax the family intent on weekend or longer cruises due to her reassuring level of stability, generously wide side decks, and dry ride in a seaway.
She boasts comfortable living accommodation with 3 cabins in addition to the saloon, which includes a secure full-length pilot berth.
‘Aspiration of Dart’ is a fine example of this classic model and remains in her original light green livery.  She has in her time been chartered by the Royal Family when known as Yeoman XXVIII and we understand was a particular choice of HRH Prince Phillip.  She has also served as an expedition boat for South Devon Marine Academy, was fully set up for distance cruising, and has a circumnavigation of the UK amongst her historic accolades.
