About

Remarks :
The Rival 32 was the improved version of the Rival 31 designed by Peter Brett and built by Marine Construction or Marcon as they were later named. This was a highly successful design with 200 hulls built and fitted out by Southern Boatbuilding. We are led to believe that this was one of the last Rival 32's built before the plug for the superstructure had become so worn that a new one was produced and with some changes became the "Mark III".
This model has been in the same ownership since 2002 and in that time has seen upgrades to her engine, rigging, upholstery and galley. She has also been across the Atlantic twice, spent a season in the Caribbean, sailed north through the Bahamas and on to the Carolinas. Normally based on the West Coast of the UK she has sailed extensively in the Scottish Islands and more recently over to Denmark.
Deck stepped, mast head rig with heavy Dacron main mounted in lazybag. Roller furling headsail with Furlex gear and a cruising chute that has only ever had a test flight.
This go anywhere yacht is in good shape and benefits from the introduction of a 30hp Nanni inboard in 2006 and Windpilot self steering gear.

Accommodation :
The present owner purchased the boat in 2002 and within the first year completed the following:
New upholstery including foam and "russet" coloured hard wearing fabric
Replaced the oven with a gas fuelled Plastimo Neptune 2000 oven with 2-burner hob and grill
Re-varished the interior teak furniture to a high standard.
Introduced a 240V ring main for use when in harbour.

Overview:
The yacht can sleep 5/6 persons with ease. Along with the port settee the saloon table can be used to create a double berth if required.
There are two singles in the fore cabin, a further single in the saloon and a sizeable pilot berth at the chart table.
The saloon is entered via the companionway. The engine housing acts as steps and takes you into a saloon with 6 foot headroom.
To starboard is the navigation area with forward facing chart table, chart storage and chart reading light and navigation aids.
To port is the galley with hot and cold pressurised water, stainless steel sink, oven and ice box. The ice box can easily be converted to a fridge if desired.
Moving forward through a half bulkhead is the saloon seating/dining area with plentiful locker and cupboard storage, saloon table and settees/berth port and starboard.
Forward of the saloon bulkhead and to port is the heads compartment with privacy door, Lavac sea toilet and sink with pressurised hot and cold water.
Opposite is a hanging locker and in the bow are two further single berths.
The interior is bright, airy and benefits from 12V lighting and opening ports for ventilation. The headlinings are in good order and the port lights are free from crazing.
