The Macwester Wight 32ft Ketch, 'Polly Garter', is an early example but none the less is in fine fettle. He retiree owner has lavished many hours to provide a very presentable craft. Her spacious 3 cabin accommodation including a separate after cabin and generous headroom is ready for an appreciative new owner. Macwester Marine Ltd was founded in 1964 by C. S. Roy designed and built a range of family cruising yachts under the MacWester name. Their sea kindly hulls were appropriate for ever changing Channel conditions and 'Polly Garter' is a testament to true British traditional ruggedness.

A standard shore-voltage (240v A/C) cable is fitted, providing standard 3-pin socket outlets.
All 12V lighting is LED
BMC CAPTAIN 4-cylinder diesel engine rated at approx. 35hp coupled to a reduction gear-box with cockpit engine control. The engine was removed in 2004 for reconditioning and reportedly regular serviced amnd maintained.

Sails and Rig
The 'Ketch Rig' comprises Main and Mizzen masts (anodised aluminium) and stainless steel standing rigging - replaced by previous owner.
Sheets for both the Main and Mizzen are fed to cockpit winches.
Sail Locker: 2 suits comprising: Main, Fore-sail and Mizzen. The total working sail area is approx. 37.2 sq. metres (400 sq.ft). and mainsail cover is included. One suit (2014) has had reportedly minimal use
The accommodation is in two separate cabins - one forward, the other aft. Headroom is mostly 6ft through the cabin trunk. The centre COCKPIT has a traditional pedestal wheel helm with adjacent engine controls and has seating around with lockers under. The cockpit floor can be removed to give access to the engine. A cockpit spray hood is fitted plus a bimini is available.
MAIN SALOON with galley (P), sink with pressurised (H&C), gas cooker with 2 hobs, oven with grill and stowage spaces with sliding fronts. Opposite (S) is the saloon table with bench seating facing fore and aft which can be lowered to provide a double berth. HEADS COMPARTMENT (S) with sea toilet, hand-basin, shower and some stowage spaces. Hanging locker (P). A hatch provides ventilation, light and an emergency exit. within the deck head. FORWARED CABIN with two single V-shaped berths (an infill section provides a double-berth). The forward bulkhead has access to the anchor chain locker.
AFT CABIN accessed from the cockpit has two 'V' berths each with stowage space under and an infill section make into a double-berth. The accommodation has easy clean vinyl deck-head lining and vertical faces of the cabin structure are finished in varnished hardwood.
SERVICES: Domestic hot water via a calorifier tank with 240v immersion heater. Cold water is provided by pump.
