About

Remarks :
The Eygthene 24 was designed by world famous yacht designer Ron Holland. It could be argued that this was the design that launched his career due to the success that the design had. Originally conceived to be competitive in the IOR Quarter ton class, she has proved a huge hit with club racers across the globe.
This particular example is no exception and has been very successful locally either with full crew or in the single handed class. If you are looking for a successful, fast, fun yacht to sail with your pals on a Sunday morning then this will tick all the boxes.
"Pintail" is well maintained and has been regularly upgraded to keep with the times. Her machinery was changed in 2007 to a reliable 13.5hp inboard Beta marine diesel. The standing rigging was renewed in 2008 and her sail wardrobe has been constantly upgraded. Most recent additions are a Hyde Main in 2015 and a Hyde No2 in 2014.
Electronic navigation aids have been similarly renewed with Garmin GPS/Plotter in 2014, Clipper Depth/Speed in 2014 and DSC VHF in 2016.
Below decks is clean and tidy with recent upholstery. Boat has been mainly used as a day sailer in current ownership but would be suitable for a couple or those with a young family.
Owners Comments:
"I have owned "Pintail" for the last 6-years and have used her for both coastal cruising and club racing with some success. I was winner of the Bondicar Division 2 series and Blyth Regatta White Sail Class. She is an ideal starter boat for both coastal cruising or club racing".

PINTAIL IS NOW ASHORE FOR THE WINTER. THOSE WISHING TO VIEW SHOULD BE AWARE THAT ACCESS IS VIA A LADDER.

Accommodation :
Below decks is bright and roomy thanks to the generous beam of the yacht.
The raised coach roof gives decent headroom and although this isn't full standing, does not feel cramped.
The interior is bright and more importantly dry.
The cushions were recovered by Storrar in hard wearing red vinyl.
Woodwork is a combination of hard woods and teak faced marine ply.
galley area to starboard with space for 2-burner paraffin hob. This has been removed but is available.
The hand pumped water system has also been removed to minimise weight but the plumbing is in place and could be easily added.
The forward cabin features two singles and a marine head to port. Opposite the heads is a large hanging space and wet locker.
This also holds the saloon table suitable for dining or chart work.
2 settee berths in the saloon.
Hull mounted storage and additional storage beneath bunks.
