The Contessa 26 interior offers up to 4 berths in 2 cabins with approx. 5' 8" max. headroom aft.
The Forepeak with V-berth, beneath berth stowage and hatch to foredeck. It has a marine toilet forward between the V berths with a hanging locker to starboard.
The navigation station is in the forward cabin and has storage for charts and space for additional instruments to be mounted.
The saloon offering two generous settee berths. The galley area is aft and is equipped with a 2-burner parafin stove and storage to port, and galley sink . Blue/grey upholstery.

Contessa 26 built in 1969 by Jeremy Rogers to a David Sadler design. black painted hull with cream superstructure and moulded non-slip deck surfaces. Encapsulated cast iron long keel. Tiller steering to keel/transom hung rudder. This yacht has been owned by the current owner for the past 19 years and has sailed her single handed to the Azores and back. He has decided its time to retire to a narrowboat. Last out of the water in 2018 when anodes etc were changed, hull paint work touch-up as required.
Masthead bermudan rigged sloop. Proctor anodised aluminium mast and boom. Spinnaker pole. Stainless steel standing rigging, age unknown. Terylene running rigging. Slab reefing mainsail with stab reefing.

Located abaft the companionway, Yanmar 1GM 9hp single cylinder diesel engine. Seawater cooled. Morse type single lever controls with electric start. Shaft drive to 2-bladed fixed propeller. New steel fuel tank fitted in 2017.The engine has lost compression on 25th November due it is believed to the piston ring needing replacement which will require the engine to be removed and rebuilt. It may be more economical to just replace the engine.
2 x 12v Batteries charged via engine alternator, wind generator and 240V Battery charger. Electrical distribution panel. There is limited cabin lighting.
