One Of The Longest Standing Syndicates In Majorca.

Squadron 52
Welcome to our syndicate, one of the longest and most well established boating syndicates in Majorca.

Moored in Alcudia, currently there is a 1/8 share in our Fairline Squadron 52. There are a total of 9 weeks available, 3 remaining in this season with 6 in next season, and 6 in each season after that.

Why A Syndicate?
Many boat owners get to use their boats perhaps 6 - 8 weeks per year, yet have all the costs. Syndication allows 6 weeks use of a great spec boat with only an 1/8 of the cost.

She is one of a very small number of syndicated boats in Majorca at this price. Being well established, everyone benefits from a long-standing resident team of specialists to look after and maintain her.

Our Squadron 52 is a classic design, renown for its sea-keeping qualities. Her twin 610hp engines give a top design speed of 30+ knots.

She has been kept on the same mooring for over 10 years, stern-to, on a gated private jetty to which only boat owners have access. Her fortunate marina position catches the best of the sun until it sets.

Professionally Maintained
The boat was commissioned in 2001 and is cleaned inside and out before each syndicate members arrival. Cabins are made up, fresh towels put out - you can even request fresh flowers on the table and wine chilling in the fridge!

The boat herself is unusual in that she offers a more spacious two cabin layout (most boats of this size have three cabins). Each has an en-suite facilities. She also benefits from a large swimming platform and an Avon jetrib. The jetrib can be used for anything from waterskiing to getting ashore when moored up. There are all the comforts of home, including a flat screen TV, Bose Surround Sound system, hard drive with 100+ movies, CD / USB player, portable iphone player, microwave, ceramic hob, washer / drier, and, of course, a drinks cabinet.

A crew cabin with twin bunks, wash basin and toilet, completes the accommodation.

There is a large cockpit area with table and chairs. Upstairs there is a flybridge with the upper helm position, a bbq, a table with seating for 6, large sun bathing cushions etc.

The Syndicate
The syndicate is looked after by a voted-in Boat Manager and Treasurer. “Open book” accounts are kept and updates are sent out regularly.

What Does It Cost
We each pay £300.00 per month into “the kitty” to cover regular mooring fees etc, with extra cash calls when needed to cover specific expenses.

Total annual maintenance, including pre-season service, lift-out, on-going cleaning and general repairs has, in past years, cost between £5,000 and £6,000 per 1/8 share.

How Are Weeks Chosen?
Weeks for the 2018 - 2019 season will be chosen at the coming AGM this November. Weeks are chosen one at a time: the longest standing member chooses their first week, then everyone chooses their first week in rotation; then the second week is chosen; and-so-on.

Once chosen, weeks can be swapped between members or, if a week can not be used, this too can be swapped. And week swaps tend to happen all the time!

A total of 48 weeks are for selection. The remaining 4 weeks of the year (typically February) are used for pre-planned maintenance, engine servicing, lift-out for antifouling, polishing etc.

What Is Alcudia Like?
Alcudia has many restaurants - literally starting at the very end of our pontoon! Beaches are a 2 minute walk away, with secluded bays and local calas to anchor up in.

Alcudia itself is in two parts, the old town and the marina and port. To see the port, and where our Squadron 52 is moored, click on the link for a drone flight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPa57D8aTUk.

Official Registration
The boat is formally registered in the UK with the Maritime & Coastguard Agency. A share sale is registered officially with them using a “Bill of Sale”. (For more details go to https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/bil l-of-sale-msf-4705.

Need More Details Or Would Like To View?
Syndication offers a delightful and indeed pragmatic way to spend up to 6 exclusive weeks of the year at a fraction of the single ownership cost on a “boatingly” affordable budget.

Never owned a boat before? Wanted to, though put off by the high cost? Syndication could be the option.
