The Tyler VORTEX 47 designed by Roland Paxton - Canadian naval architect - has an interesting and purposeful hull form. One of the predominant features are the extended chines that 'channel' water either side of her moderate 'V' section hull providing excellent tracking, lift and stability. One of only seven built, we understand some were constructed for the Omani Navy as fast patrol craft. This vessel has been meticulously and expensively refitted far beyond sensible reasoning. The owner reports expenditure by a previous owner in excess of £600,000 mostly if not all undertaken by skilled employees from his own marine engineering company and completed in 2015. This presents a unique opportunity for either commercial or leisure users. A distance traveller with impeccable credentials from the moulding yard, Tylers of Tonbridge, who were manufacturers of Nelson hulls for many years.

History: The engines and drives were removed from the vessel and thoroughly overhauled by the service agents. Refitting included a new fuel system and most of the electrical wiring has been replaced. Features include:

Boarding from the BRIDGE DECK, the companionway (Stbd) leads down into the MAIN SALOON with a 'U' shaped settee table arrangement positioned aft of the HELM and NAVIGATORS suspension seats providing a spacious area for entertaining. Continuing forward into the galley area (S) which has a dining area (P). The galley is fully fitted with modern flush gas cooker hob, double sinks (H&C) and built-in microwave. Loads of locker space above and below surfaces. A HEADS compartment (P) with shower serves the forward area/cabin together with hanging space (S). A two-berth FORWARD CABIN is provided in the forepeak. Returning aft from the main saloon is the MASTER CABIN with large central bed and ensuite HEADS/SHOWER compartment. Lockering is provided on both sides and hanging space. Excellent natural light is provided throughout via deck hatches. Adding to the ambience is the teak and holly flooring throughout the accommodation areas. BRIDGE DECK with duplicated helm (P) and controls plus essential instrumentation with helm and navigators upholstered seating (P&S). The large 'U' seating area with central table provides excellent alfresco entertaining in either an open or enclosed environment. Storage for equipment is provided. ON DECK, the traditional laid teak deck adds to the finesse of this exceptional craft which is further complemented with substantial deck fittings and stainless fitments. The stern ladder extends to the bathing platform across the transom.

ENGINE ROOM - accessed from the main saloon, the professional engineer would appreciate the functionality but also the layout with checkaplate floors and positioning of equipment carefully considered.

'The Vortex was an innovative design developed in conjunction with the Tyler Boat Company for mainly commercial applications such as pilot vessels and patrol craft and, as mentioned, at least one was supplied to the Omani Navy. The hull design was a refined and proven concept 'chined' shape to carry water uniformly to the propellers to maximise efficiency. This craft is very special particularly the extent of refurbishment undertaken. The chances are there will not be the like of this Vortex anywhere. '
