SERIOUS OFFERS CONSIDERED - MUST BE SOLD This 16.8m barge - built circa 1974 - was recently used as a family home. Whilst the current accommodation is basic with some refitting required, it provides a blank canvas and has significant potential. With over 20sq. m (1.73m x 12.1m) of internal floor area, this can be develped around individual requirements. The main accommodation area has headroom of approx. 1.8m (6'), increasing to circa 2m (6'6") in the forepeak cabin area. Viewing can be arranged at the brokers location.
Near offers will now be considered.
- 12v Battery
- 240v Shoreline connection (needs checking for safety)
LISTER SR3 3-cylinder air-cooled engine with integral LISTER LH150 reduction gear-box.
The power output depends upon RPM - for this engine our investigation indicates a rating of approx. 15hp @ 1500rpm, 18hp @ 1800rpm and 19.5hp @ 2000rpm. This has not been tested.
AFTER DECK area with weather canopy arrangement over the central access plus hatch to the engine compartment. Tiller steering in the traditional sense for a narrow boat of this type. Proceeding forward into the accommodation areas - GALLEY area (P) with 4- burner hob and oven, work surfaces and stainless steel sink with H&C supply + refrigerator and washing machine. Continuing forward there is provision for a toilet compartment to port. The MAIN SALOON living area occupies the central part which currently has a sofa installed and a bath which could form part of a new toilet compartment. Proceeding forward through a bulkhead, is the MASTER CABIN with elevated roof area and a central double berth with stowage spaces and two bunk-beds (childrens berths). UPVC windows are installed for the most part providing natural light throughout the cabin environment. Sound potential for someone with the vision to develop the available space this vessel has.
The Broker has been given the task of finding person(s) willing to undertake the necessary work, before venturing into the 'water-ways of Britian'. It is also recommended to gather as much appropriate information, prior to entering the 'water-ways' of the UK. The craft is currently with the Broker and is acting on behalf of the immediate past owner.
'This craft, however, is in need of some attention in terms of readying for use'. The information of the craft, it's mechanical and internal 'fit-out', should be able to provide some idea of the base in preparing the vessel for movement on 'British Waterways.' Well-known High Street book-sellers can often have such publications or able to ask if possible to be obtained. The structure aft offers ease of boarding the vessel as well as protection from adverse weather conditions - at the same time, providing the entry to the accommodation spaces below.
