MELODY -  this aluminium built ketch sailing yacht designed by Oliver F Van Meer sleeps 8 guests in 4 staterooms. She is an incredibly capable world-cruising yacht that offers safety and uncompromised comfort. 

Designed and engineered by Olivier van Meer and built by Ridas Yacht, the 41.54-metre sailing yacht is a true feat of engineering that is just as comfortable in 0 degrees as she is in 40-degree temperatures. Each part and component have been handpicked and is nothing short of premium. 

Her set-up with a hydraulic centreboard and twin, independent masts and winches ensures ease of sailing, even during long, daring excursions. She can be managed by a small crew and with a shallow 2.7-metre draft is just as able inland as she is out at sea. Thanks to an ingenious tender garage in her transom, with a refuelling station and storage for the diesel tender, owner and guests’ explorations are unrestricted. 

MELODY is state-of-the-art, and the premium selection of equipment, fixtures, and fittings is what gives her such strong safety credentials. More than 26 systems have Type and Product Approvals from Lloyd’s Register, including her generated electricity and lithium battery banks, her freshwater sewage treatment, and her hydraulic systems supplied by Lewmar. Special attention is given to the prevention of squeaking of the interior during sailing. 

A TRUE FAMILY WORLD-CRUISER 

MELODY offers accommodation for as many as eight guests across four staterooms, comprising an owner’s suite, complete with an office area and ensuite with shower and bathtub, and three ensuite VIP staterooms. She can also host four crew. Equipped with a single 500-horsepower Volvo D 13 diesel engine, MELODY has an impressive 2,000- nautical mile range and consumes only 18 litres of fuel per hour when cruising at 8 knots.

ACCOMMODATIONS: 

1 x Owner’s suite with an office area, a safe in cupboard space and ensuite with shower and bathtub.
3 x Guest staterooms: 1 x below the doghouse (guest/children’s cabin) and two in front of the salon.

MAIN SALON: 

In the salon, on the port side, a U-shaped sofa and dining are and on the starboard side, a lounge area with sofas and a coffee table. 

CREW ACCOMMODATION: 

Sleeps 4 crew including the Captain.

EXTERIOR: 
The exterior is mainly designed to be functional during sailing. However, behind the mizzen mast, a comfortable settee is created with a sofa and table under stainless steel made bimini support tubing and classic style bimini. The table is secured to the deck and has a fixed height.
On the fore deck above the salon, light domes are created which can be opened to create ventilation. A custom hot tub is placed just in front of the main mast.
