Description
Exceptional Multihull - Full Beam - Ready to circumnavigate or sail to high latitudes, Conan, a stunning Joubert blue water custom designed 78ft Trimaran, built by Chantier Technicoque, La Rochelle - France, she is turn key and set to go. Sole ownership since the yacht’s inception and build, serious thought was put into place to ensure comfort and total safety while at sea or on location.
The benefits of a Trimaran design with a 78ft waterline provide a sea-kindly motion and stability, unlike monohulls of the same size – especially in heavy seas and in-climate weather conditions. The boat can also be beached on her 3 full keels.
Conan has some of the most successful charter activity records and is ready to be taken over if desired.
Conan’s owners have sailed her to remote locations in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean with the most recent location being the Mediterranean.
Originally designed for short-handed sailing, she is equipped with robust as well as redundant systems specially put in place for cruising to remote locations.
The yacht is powered by 3 diesel engines, all direct drive – with a Volvo 350hp in the central hull, and 2x Perkins 60hp in each ama. Two Westerbeke generators (18Kw & 8.5Kw) power the yacht.
Also fitted with professional grade air-conditioning & galley refrigeration – with maximum redundancy to meet busy charter days for up to 12 guests.
The yacht flies a Greek flag, is VAT paid and its corporate status gives it numerous advantages to operate both in Greece and the EU. All EU options, private flag or no EU flag can be considered for the future use for the next owner.
Detailed website about the yacht can be provided, along with full maintenance records and any walkthrough videos can be provided.

Additional Information - Her Build History
The original multi-hull project was designed by the renowned French naval architect Michel Joubert and commissioned by the current & sole owner to Technicoque shipyard at La Rochelle in France.
During her construction, supervised by Michel Joubert, great care was given to achieve a long-lasting structural solidity and virtually unsinkable hulls.
“Conan” was conceived as a live-aboard yacht suitable for Blue Water cruising, mainly in the tropics, hence it is purposefully well ventilated via a multitude of deck and topside hatches – 34 in total, with special attention given to the cabins. The hatches are oriented to capture air and deflect it towards the interior of the boat.
The rigging is designed for single-handed sailing and the yacht can be easily operated by a couple.
Another interesting feature is the rainwater catchment on the coach roof which has a teak fiddle around its circumference to collect rainwater with a valve that allows feeding into the reservoir or overboard, as required.
Hulls and rig coating systems: the mast and hulls are painted in Sicomin alkyl-urethane (same as AwlGrip). The advantage of Sicomin is that it can be polished.
Yacht painted in 1995, 2003 and last in 2014 (13 coats). Good for 15 years.
In 2012, with view to improve the vessel’s performance and increase her volume, the owner decided to convert his yacht into a trimaran.
The conversion project was done in collaboration with the Michel Joubert and also of Marc van Peteghem - the world's No.1 naval architect for multihull racers and cruisers.
The third hull construction and its connection to the original stb & port hulls (amas), was supervised by Jerome Blanfune, a fiberglass/composite expert and production manager of a boatyard in Antalya producing 60’catamaran series.
Anti-osmosis treatment: the amas have a reinforced anti-osmosis barrier consisting of 2 layers of 600 gram fiberglass and Sicomin epoxy treatment. The center hull is vinylester and has a Sicomin epoxy treatment for added security.
The trimaran hull shape is very sea-kindly as it eliminates or attenuates the impact of choppy seas or large waves under the bridge-deck. It allows a much calmer passage in a heavy sea conditions.
Charter Abilities & Cruising Background
