Unique flat-bottomed boat very suitable for the turf/strontrace

Aaltje is the only sailing Groninger Bolship, in its original state. It is extremely suitable for sailing on larger waters and grounding, and due to the easily lowered mast (with counterweight), it is also very nice for trips on rivers and inland waters. As a friends and family ship, or to sail with groups. If you are looking for a fun ship to participate in the turf race or the strontrace, then Aaltje is perfect!
Aaltje is comparable to a sailing westlander, skuts, etc.
The last (flat) inspection was in 2021. There is a value appraisal report available.

"Groninger Bolship 'Aaltje'

The Aaltje is a Raised Bol or a Bolle with Board, launched in 1923 in Veendam from the yard of Gebroeders Grol. At the end of 2017, the Groninger Bolship Aaltje came to De Wilde Vaart in North Holland. The Aaltje was built for turf trader Feiken in Wildervank. He named the ship after his wife. The Feiken family regularly went to the peat areas around Wildervank to collect turf. The turf was sold from the ship.

Bolships belong to the Tjalken family. The ships are built wide and are therefore suitable for the shallow waters in the peat colonies. Characteristic is the narrow sheer along the entire length of the ship. On the rudder click, a horn of plenty is placed, a sign of prosperity and wealth. From the horn comes a branch with grapes."
