The cube houses and market hall are within walking distance of this well-maintained houseboat. The Boltjalk has been owned by this family for a long time and is tastefully furnished as a tiny house on the water with 2 bedrooms. From the deck, you have a beautiful view over the heritage harbors and can see the White House of Rotterdam. Are you a starter looking for a tiny house in the center of Rotterdam? Then be sure to come aboard the Boltjalk Anjo in the Haringvliet.
Layout
From the aft deck, there is access to the wheelhouse where a cozy living kitchen is located and a large round dining table under the aft deck. This guarantees a pleasant cooking and dining experience together. There is also a small seating area in the wheelhouse that can be converted into a guest bed for two people. The kitchen is equipped with various appliances, such as a dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, gas stove with hood, and a combi oven.
The hallway connects the wheelhouse with the hold. In the former cargo hold, there is a spacious living room with plenty of daylight from above and an energy-efficient pellet stove. In the corner, there is also a large desk for the many home office tasks. From this room, the bathroom and the 2 bedrooms are accessible. The double room has a built-in bed of 180x200cm and the single room has a built-in bed of 90x200. Throughout the ship, there are various built-in closets and storage options. During the renovation of the ship, some charming historical details were incorporated into the decor, such as old cabinet doors.
From the front deck, the forepeak is accessible, which is now used as storage. On this front deck, there is space for a nice lounge sofa to enjoy the water life in Rotterdam. There is also a small dinghy available, which you can use to sail through the harbor.
Surroundings
This houseboat Anjo is moored in the heritage harbors of Rotterdam. The city life with the market hall, shopping street, cube houses, cozy restaurants, and the Maas are within walking distance. All amenities are within walking distance, such as shops, as well as the metro and train station Blaak. From here, there is a perfect connection to the public transport network of the Netherlands and the Benelux.
By car, there is good access to the A16, and for owners of houseboats, a parking permit is available from the municipality of Rotterdam.
History of the ship
The ship was built in 1909 as Vrouw Lodewieka in Veendam as a Bolpraam ship. The ship has a carrying capacity of 62 tons and had its home port in Wildervank. In 1931, the ship was re-registered as Drie Gebroeders with its home port in Bolsward. The ship was used for transporting, among other things, peat, potatoes, and beets. The ship is now known as Anjo and has been owned by the current family for over 20 years.
Mooring options
The ship Anjo has a permanent mooring in the old harbors of Rotterdam, which are managed by the Heritage Harbors Foundation Rotterdam. In these heritage harbors of Rotterdam, over 100 historical ships with various appearances are moored. Among the residents of the ships, there is a friendly atmosphere, and for maintenance, the shipyard Koningspoort is within reach. In consultation with the manager, another mooring within the heritage harbors is also possible.
The mooring fee is approximately € 980 per year, including service costs and environmental and waste charges.
Technology
The ship was fully modernized and restored to its original state by the owners 20 years ago. This took into account plenty of daylight from above. A steel roof has been placed on the former cargo hold, and insulation has been installed in the walls, roof, and floor. Heating is provided by a diesel combi central heating (with underfloor heating in the wheelhouse) and the pellet stove in the living room. The ship is ready to sail for a trip to the shipyard, but also to, for example, the Biesbosch.
