Jeanneau - Sun Odyssey 43 DS

Sailing BoatsBlue Water CruisersJeanneauSun Odyssey 43 DS

Here we have a fabulous Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 43 deck saloon, built in 2001 and commissioned in February 2002, and only on her second owner. She has cruised the Med since new and tax has not been paid, the is allowed for it the lower asking price. This boat was previously owned from new by a Canadian family. As a Med boat, she is fitted with Air conditioning. The vendor has decided to sell it with a lot of personal items as he is stopping sailing. OWNER'S DESCRIPTION AND COMMENTS 'SANDPIPER' - JEANNEAU 43 DS 3C Brief Description Sandpiper is a Jeanneau 43 DS 3C and is the 3 cabin 'owner's version' of this very popular model. 'DS' stands for 'Deck Saloon'. A copy of the original Jeanneau Deck Saloon brochure which describes the boat and the accommodation provided in detail is available from the brokers. Launched in 2002, Sandpiper has the benefit of a 75hp turbocharged Yanmar 4JH3- TE engine which has completed 2,478 hrs, an average of only 145 hrs pa. Essentially, as currently configured, Sandpiper has 2 cabins, a single huge aft 'owner's cabin' and a large forward cabin. The rear 'owner's cabin' boasts full headroom in part and a double bed which is up to 6ft wide. It also enjoys access to a combined WC and shower room directly from the cabin, thereby providing complete privacy. The forward cabin, which also has full headroom, is currently laid out to provide a large 'V' berth, a pair of bunks and a separate WC and shower room. This model, at an as new extra charge of 3,174 euros, cleverly enables the forward cabin to be divided to provide 2 separate cabins, one containing the 'V' berth and one containing the bunks, both sharing the WC/shower room. The partioning, doors etc required to transform the front cabin into two cabins, are neatly stored out of sight in the front cabin. Sandpiper has never made any punishing cross-ocean transits, nor has she ever been chartered. She has simply been leisurely cruising in the Mediterranean since her launch and her layout and fittings which include airconditioning, teak cockpit and decks, a large boat shade, a large fridge and adjoining cool box, sunshades to hatches, a large bimini with side screens and a large spray hood, an external shower, bathing platform and ladder, a furling Mainsail and a furling Genoa, a 'Nature Pure' drinking-water purification system, large holding tanks to both WCs, bowthruster etc. reflect her use. Sandpiper is being sold in 'ready to go sailing' condition. She is being sold together with an extensive inventory of equipment which is included in the sale price and which render her immediately ready to continue her adventures under new ownership. This equipment is listed in Schedule C below. Sandpiper is currently moored in Gouvia Marina in Corfu, Greece. Her marina berth is paid until May of 2020, her insurance is paid until October 2020, her DEPKA - the document all boat owners in Greece must have stamped annually, free of charge, and carry with their ship's papers - does not need to be stamped again until September 2020. Her Greek Cruising Tax (TEPAI) is paid up until December 2019 and does not need to be paid again until she is used again as her SSR Certificate, which is in the Vendor's sole name, has been lodged with the Corfu Port Police in accordance with the regulations. Accordingly, the SSR is not included with the documents lodged with the brokers. Sandpiper has had two owners from new. The Vendor and his wife bought her in 2006 from a Canadian couple, who remain close friends to this day. Accordingly, Sandpiper has enjoyed 2 careful and considerate owners from new who have both spared no expense in firstly fitting out the boat from new and, secondly, in maintaining her and updating her since that time. Sandpiper is in excellent condition throughout and has been regularly updated and maintained to the highest of standards by both the Vendor and the previous owners. The upholstery is in 'as new' condition cushion protectors having been deployed in the saloon and on the bunks and mattress protectors having been used on the beds, at least since the commencement of the Vendor's ownership in 2006. The 'V' berth and the bunks, in particular, have only ever been very lightly used. The furling main-sail and furling genoa have been removed, washed and stored ashore every season since they were acquired new in 2013 and are in 'as new' condition. A detailed Maintenance Schedule and Fuel Log from launch in 2002 to 2019 are available which include invoices for many of the works carried during the Vendor's ownership. When Sandpiper was launched in 2002, the original owners purchased a wide range of additional extras which cost 61,866 euros in total.
