The LOCHIN 33 GDSV was developed for commercial 'offshore' operations as patrol / police launches. This vessel saw service with Dorset Police in the 1980/90's, subsequently with the London Met. Police. Now in private hands, she has been re-engined with sensibly powered Volvo engines, giving her sparkling performance. She is equally suitable to re-enter the 'commercial world' or continue as a 'distance cruiser' with all the advantages a Lochin can provide.

VOLVO TAMD63P turbo charged and inter-cooled engines each of 370hp, fitted with ZF/MPA220AGB adjusted angle reduction gearboxes, driving through stainless steel shafts and NAB propellers. Instatrim trim tabs fitted. Engines and gearboxes were fitted new in 2007 (purchased 2005) by the current ownership.

From forward: FORE CABIN - two main lower bunks in 'V' formation - potentially two additional bunks above - in need of cushions or used for additional shelving/stowage space. Access forward to the anchor locker.

HEADS COMPARTMENT (Stbd) - with manual flush sea toilet, hand- basin with H&C taps and ample stowage spaces. A 'pump-out' unit for a shower, if required. Additional locker spaces.

GALLEY (Port) - has a stainless steel sink with H&C water supply, a cooker with two-ring grill and oven. Storage areas with upper and lower work-top surfaces. Companionway(P) up to WHEELHOUSE. The Helm console is to Starboard, with engine instrumentation, auxiliary switches and navionics in close proximity. Also with clock and barometer. A KAB300K suspension helm seat with 'foot-rest'/ locker' under the console. A second seat and pedestal are available. A bench seat/pilot berth - with upholstered seat and back-rest - is located to Port, with adjacent lockers and storage spaces. To Starboard, there is a folding side-table with an adjacent seat.

The engine room is accessed by the hinged panels of the Wheelhouse sole/floor, providing good working space. The aft bulkhead has a central door leading to the after deck, which is enclosed by hand-rails. Inboard rails along the Wheelhouse have 'hook-on wires' for safety going forward to the fore-deck. An after lazarette offers stowage space, with water-tight security. The wide side-decks provide good access around the vessel with the fore deck providing a good working area and with a centrally mounted electric capstan winch. The hull has the 'classic' Lochin heavy-duty gunwhale fender - plus additional 'straking' sections, from aft to forward of amidships. A mast provides the mounting for antenna, etc., with the radar 'roof mounted'.

Known to the builders (Lochin) since new, she has done stirling work hitherto and her current ownership has done nothing to dissolve her commercial potential. The relatively new engine installation means she can reach her full potential. From our inspection, she appears to have all the usual Lochin attributes.'
