It has12 volt ceiling lighting; reading lights; and large side and forward screens, allowing plenty of natural daylight to enter the cabin. There are opening side windows for further ventilation, as well as the fixed ventilation throughout the cabin, Eberspacher heating vented to the saloon, and also the controls for the central heating system. Engine access is very easy from the saloon area and daily checks are accessed via large lifting hatches for convenience.

Galley: From the main saloon, down 2 steps and set to starboard, the galley is comprehensive, featuring 3 burner hob with separate oven and grill compartments,, large 12/240 volt refrigerator with ice compartment, low level ventilation, fixed ceiling ventilation, opening side window, and this area also shares the daylight from the main saloon side windows and the forward screens act as large skylights, making this a very usable area. Also, there is a corner bin, large sink with hot and cold mixer tap, lockers for crockery, cutlery etc. plus a generous amount of storage space in the teak floored galley, with some additions made in construction, specified by the owner from new. The galley is also the site for the water tank level gauge.

The dinette area also has height adjustable table on a gas ram, which can be lowered into position and, with the addition of an infill cushion, will convert into a second double berth.

Heads & Showers: The Broom 38 has 2 heads, 1 forward and 1 ensuite to the aft cabin. In this case, the owner has specified a manual flush toilet forward, and an electric flush toilet and shower unit aft. The forward head is opposite the dinette. It features full standing headroom, fixed shower, opening side window, shelving space and shower seat.

Aft Cabin: Accessed from the main saloon down 3 steps, the aft cabin features a handy storage space just before entering the cabin, fixed isolator point for both 12 and 240 volt systems. The cabin itself is accessed through a bulkhead door. The main feature is a fixed island bed, the aforementioned separate toilet and shower compartments, full dresser unit to starboard and further storage space to port in the form of lockers, drawers, and hanging wardrobes. This cabin is also fitted with 12 volt ceiling mounted lighting and reading lights, fixed ceiling ventilation, 2 opening aft hatches and long side windows.

Main Cockpit Area: The cockpit area has a U shaped seating area to aft and excellent access to side decks. It also features matching helmsman and navigator seats, offering a commanding helmsman position and good visibility to all sides of the boat. The helm itself has single lever morse controls for each engine, comprehensive engine instrumentation, autohelm, speed, log and depth sounder, steering compass and various isolators for nav lights, bilge pumps, windscreen wipers, etc. Beneath the aft bench is some storage space, gas locker. The cockpit is covered by a 4 piece hood system, mounted to fibreglass radar arch, which tilts back to reduce the air draught of the vessel to the top of the screen to 10’ 6”.
