Westerly - Tempest
1989 - A particularly well looked-after example of Westerly's popular 30' Tempest bilge-keeled tiller-steered cruising yacht from the pen of Ed Dubois. Over 100 Tempests were built between 1987 and 1993 -- she is faster and closer-winded than the average Westerly, but just as easy to manage under sail or power. Berths for 6 with two double aft cabins outside the saloon. In the current attentive ownership for 13 years, she benefits from on-mast main furling, Eberspacher diesel cabin heating, calorifier and 240v immersion, spacious saloon and galley, and large enclosed heads compartment with shower. Fenders, warps, Avon Redcrest tender and 2-stroke outboard included. | Video walkthrough tour available at www.harbouryachts.co.uk.

Moon Magic is a comfortable, safe and practical boat to sail with no vices. We have cruised mainly the Solent area but have been to France and the Channel Islands. The large cockpit makes her very sociable in harbour, and the sheltered area behind the sprayhood makes her a dry boat to control from the companionway. I bought her in 2002 and my surveyor reported that the hull condition was good but suggested we re-coat her with epoxy as a preventative measure. This was done that year and we also fitted the Eberspacher heater at the same time. She has been wintered ashore every year with oil and filter each year and new fuel filter every second year. This year (2015) we also replaced the fuel pump. Sails and running rigging are removed each winter and several ropes have been replaced this year. We have recently replaced the spray hood, headlining in both aft cabins, drive-shaft seal, toilet pipework, anchor chain and Lofrans windlass (receipts available).
