Westerly - Merlin
Built from 1984 to 1992, the Westerly Merlin was the second design that Westerly commissioned from Ed Dubois, with the aim of higher performance and a more modern hull form than the Laurent Giles designed Konsort. Although smaller than a Konsort, the Merlin has what may for most people be a better interior, with a good sized double aft berth. The Merlin is also regarded as being generally faster than the Konsort.
About 170 were built during the production run, and like all Westerly's the hulls were moulded to Lloyds standards, and each hull issued with a Lloyds Hull Construction certificate. At different times different interior finishes were used, some having light ash veneers on the interior bulkheads. Some were built with vinyl head linings, other had wood veneer on the head linings.

A really nice example of this very popular cruising Yacht, the hull and exterior appears to be in very good condition with no signs of damage anywhere, the interior is light and airey and certainly doesn't have any 'musty' smells at all.
Some nice touches like the pushpit that has been modified to house to quarter seats.
It is very evident that the owners have lovingly looked after this boat, the hull has been copper coated so I wouldn't expect to see anything untoward there, and she doesn't have the usual Westerly sagging head lining with it being teak in laid
All in all a very nice Westerly competitively priced.
