Swan - 371
Swan 371. 1983 Built to Lloyds specifications and of course employing the highest standards of workmanship the 371 became a successful model for Nautor. The mast was also designed with high safety margins – for a cruiser racer of her day. The running backstays (or check stays) are not there as a requirement to keep the rig in the boat but to give additional support in rougher conditions especially up wind. She does have the bridge deck arrangement allowing for a great aft cabin and the deck layout is designed for ease of handling – especially if you are cruising with a small crew.

Glass fibre reinforced polyester by hand layup method. Structural bulkheads are of waterproof marine plywood laminated to hull and deck.
Engine beds are GRP with steel inserts
Uncoloured gel coat below waterline with floatation reference point bow and stern
Heavy GRP brackets are moulded onto hull to support stainless steel chain plates

Lead casting with antimony
Cast in keel bolts are stainless steel
Single point lifting lug fastened to keel bolt

Foam filled GRP with stainless steel stock supported by two roller bearings
Cable steering with Aluminium quadrant and emergency tiller stowed under helmsman seat
