Swan 37 – “Ondina Of Polruan”classic Sparkman & Stephens design with Nautor build pedigree, fin and skeg rudder, excellent performance, fast and sea kindly passage making. Extensive refit and re-launched 1997, works included: New teak decks, new toe rails, interior wood stripped and re varnished, all wiring and plumbing replaced, engine refurbished with new pistons, and more. Very fine example must be seen. . . . SPECIFICATION: With her pronounced tumble home and low windage profile, Ondina is a very pretty, Sparkman & Stephens design with Nautor build pedigree. She has the classic S&S design with fin and skeg rudder that provides excellent performance and general fast, sea kindly passage making. The past 4 decades have proved this to be a most exacting account of a truly impressive, classic Swan. After purchasing Ondina she was subjected to a complete refit and was recommissioned in 1997. New teak decks and toe rail were fitted. All woodwork was stripped to bare wood and re-varnished. All wiring and plumbing were replaced and the electronics updated. The Volvo MD11C engine was refurbished with new pistons and cylinder liners and a second alternator fitted. ACCOMMODATION: All joiner work is done in accordance with best yacht practice Corners of hatches, seats etc, have rounded corners. When the house batteries are being charged the compressor automatically switches to high speed and the holding plate is frozen down to around - 14C. Under normal use this provides enough cooling to keep the fridge going for quite a few hours without further draw on the batteries. If more cooling is required the compressor switches on at slow speed drawing just enough current to keep the fridge at around 4-6C. Electric and manual pumped hot and cold water system at the galley and the heads basin. Hot water via engine calorifier. Lavac manual toilet. Head compartment has timber and GRP liner and is in very good condition. HEATING: Pascall Atkey “Pansy” mk.V charcoal burning cabin heater. Indispensable in a quiet anchorage after a long wet slog to windward! HEADS: Manual marine toilet Hand-basin with discharge through heads.
