  • Spacious cockpit with a large navigation table in Very high gloss varnished teak below a fixed Toughened glass windscreen.
  • Seats and upper side of cockpit coaming covered in caulked,12mm  solid teak.
  • Cupped Helmsman's seat with Najad logo in teak intarsia behind the wheel.
  • Removable teak duckboards high gloss.
  • Steering pedestal with stainless steel protection bar for the compass which also supports the varnished teak cockpit table.
  • Two flush mounted winch handle pockets in the coamings port and starboard. The starboard one also contains the engine control panel.
  • Behind the windscreen and in the cockpit recesses there is space for instrumentation.
  • Integrated grab rails are built on to the teak navigation table in the cockpit.
  • The Burgundy sprayhood is fitted in a groove to the top edge of the windscreen so the joint becomes splash proof.

  • Yanmar 4JH4-E, 4-cylinder direct injection, 4- stroke marine diesel with fresh water-cooling.

  • Mechanical reverse gear, type KM4A, reduction ratio 2.63:1. 1" (35 mm) propeller shaft in acid resistant steel with flexible connection.
  • Stern gland with water lubricated rubber bearing.

The Hull construction

  • The hull is hand laid in a sandwich construction of triaxial Rowing with ISO polyester.
  • The surface layer is of NGA Gelcoat for maximum protection against water penetration.
  • The colour is white with carmine red trim and water lines inlaid in the Gelcoat.
  • The hull is top coated internally.
  • Below the water line the hull is treated with epoxy primer and antifouling paint.
  • An integral swimming platform with swimming and safety ladder in the transom.
  • The internal construction of the yacht is reinforced with longitudinal stringers and transverse floors. This supports keel fittings, mast pillar, engine frame, tanks and the cabin floor.
  • Additional fore and aft reinforcements (stringers) in the hull.
  • All main bulkheads are laminated to the hull.
  • Transverse chain plate fittings laminated to the hull.
  • The mast pillar is bolted to the floor plate construction.

Deck construction

    • Deck and coachroof are built in sandwich (Divini-cell coring) construction in glass fibre reinforced polyester.
    • The colour is white with Carmine red trim line.
    • Hull and deck are bolt and glued jointed together.
    • Strengthened glass fibre laminate beneath stressed areas.
    • Substantial teak capping toe rail with s/steel rub rail.
    • The deck and swimming platform are laid with solid caulked teak.
    • The coachroof, forward has a nonslip surface.
    • The coachroof aft is teak laid
    • A self draining locker forward for chain, fenders, warps and gas bottles.
    • Aft, two drained lazarettes for anchor, ropes and lines.
    • Two internal deck drains to avoid smears to topsides.
    • Winch brackets on both sides of the cockpit combing to support both Genoa (2 s/s Anderson 46st) and Spinnaker winches (2 s/s Anderson 28st).
    • Stainless steel Anderson winches

Mast and Rig

  • Fractional rig with twin spreaders and twin lower shrouds.
  • Selden mast in silver anodised aluminium profile, height 51'7 "(15.75 m) above deck, stepped on the coachroof and supported by a steel pillar, that is placed on the floor plate construction.
  • Stainless steel wire standing rigging.
  • Head sail furling system, Selden Furlex, with control line on port side, drawn through blocks on the stanchions and stopper on the cap rail to outside cockpit.
  • Backstay adjuster, mechanical.
  • Selden rod kick with gas damper and topping lift.
  • The mast is fitted with deck light, steaming light and prepared for spinnaker equipment, one stainless steel, self-tailing halyard winch.
  • Winch handle pocket on the mast, Windex and flag halyards.

Galvanic protection

VHF - ICOM 603  DSC – transceiver at navigation area plus additional  ICOM  HM-162 Command mike in cockpit area, acting as cockpit loudspeaker and giving full control of radio.

AIS receiver  at navigation area  - utilising separate aerial on “Tee” bar on stern.  Fed to both plotters.

AIS “receive splitter” if needed for use with masthead aerial

YEOMAN plotter - Programmable in situ using laptop.  Connection sockets at navigation area and out in the cockpit area if needed.

FERUNO NAVTEX  at navigation area - aerial on “Tee” bar.

FERUNO GPS.  - aerial on “Tee” bar.  At present this serves as GPS input for VHF radio, NAVTEX and YEOMAN Plotter, therefore these units use a separate GPS signal and aerial from that used by the RAYMARINE Plotters and Autopilot.  If needed (eg failure of Raymarine GPS) this unit can be connected to the Raymarine plotters and Autopilot.

 MULTIPLEXER -  combining all \ nmea signals and outputting these to various units.  Programmable in situ using laptop.

Second Raymarine plotter E90 mounted under windscreen.  Radar is not fed to this unit at present.

GIRO fitted to autopilot.

Second DVB aerial - on “Tee” bar.  Fed to navigation area.  Two aerial amplifiers.

Aerial sockets in aft cabin and at navigation area.

 Second spray-hood and cockpit cover (Burgundy)  to be used as a replacement for the original items.

 Stackpack system for mainsail.

 Cockpit tent/enclosure (Burgundy) fixes under boom (on a support pole) and each side is removable (zips) and attaches to guard rails.  Wonderful for wind, rain or as a sun-shade, but still maintaining an open feel to the cockpit.  Easily erected and stowed.
