The Mounts Bay Lugger is a very specific type of boat and it has a long history, fishing has been a main activity for hundreds of years in Mounts Bay Cornwall, it was this particular type of vessel that that evolved during that period that is unique to this part of the world.
Sailing fleets began to diminish leading up to the early twentieth century but there is still a good following and a number of boats local to the Southwest.
This Mounts Bay Lugger is a fine example she is probably the newest boat of her class, as she was built locally in 2005 by a real enthusiast and professional boat builder.
