Pendragon VI was launched in California in December, 2010, the largest of a line of Davidson designs built for a local Southern California yachtsman for all-out racing in both inshore and offshore races.
The boat is built entirely in carbon fibre pre-preg and was constructed at Franklin Boat Works in New Zealand.

Built in 2010, Pendragon 6 was built at Franklin Boat Works in New Zealand for a highly experienced owner who was looking for a full grand prix racer but with an interior he could use.
The boat is built entirely in carbon fibre pre-preg and cured in a custom built oven, which was overseen by some of the most experienced boat builders anywhere in the world.
The interior ends are finished in high gloss clear over the carbon fibre, while the centre area is painted over carbon with American maple trim and red upholstery.
Weighing in at just 14t she has been built with performance very much in mind and on a no expense spared basis.
Three Harken grinding pedestals are mounted in the cockpit and can run any of four different winches as well as hydraulic deck functions.
The keel is a lifting foil with bulb that reduces the draft from 16' while sailing to 11' for entering shallow draft harbours. The keel is also equipped with a kelp cutter.
The 75hp Volvo Penta diesel auxiliary engine has a retractable drive for drag free speeds while sailing. There are twin rudders with kelp cutters, making steering positive in all conditions. Off wind speeds of 30+ knots has been obtained in the right conditions. The boat can sail over 30 knots of boatspeed downwind - proven.

The mast is from Southern Spars with carbon rigging and a three spreader configuration.
The mast and boom are the very best product that Southern Spars had available in 2009 and the spars have stood the test of time with outstanding results.
The EC6 Carbon rigging is to the very highest grade and offers huge weight savings in all the right places along with the increased torsional strength means for great results.
The deck has all halyards and control lines leading aft under the cabin and the deck, making for a clean and uncluttered deck layout.
Pendragon is fitted with a large permanent carbon bowsprit and required bobstay to cope with the high loads exerted from the furling upwind and reaching sails.
