Hallberg-Rassy - 42

Hallberg Rassy's classic "Blue Water"  Ketch, the benchmark for long distance cruising yachts.  The Hallberg-Rassy 42 (E) was built from 1980 until 1991. A total of 255 hulls were built, PILGRIM is Hull No. 107. First class workmanship in selected mahogany, hand rubbed and treated to smooth finish. Inside of hull lined with mahogany. Floor boards in teak with holly inlay. All cushions are covered by high quality blue furniture fabric.

The accommodation consists from forward of:
Chain locker with two liquid gas bottles and anchor chain below, drained overboard.

Traditional V berth with infill to make a double berth if required.  Considerable sail stowage beneath berth, lockers above and side locker with small table unit.

Good sized heads compartment to port aft of fwd cabin.  Fully refurbished Baby Blakes heads, hot and cold water, wash hand basin and separate shower stall.  Ample stowage throughout.  Opposite in passageway is a double hanging locker.

L Shaped settee berth to port, straight berth to starboard both with lifting backs to give a wider sleeping berth if required.  Large folding leaf saloon table on centreline, comfortable seating for six.  Open stowage beneath starboard berth, tanks and some stowage beneath port berth.  Lockers and book shelves above with louvered doors.

To starboard of companionway comprising U-shaped work surface with double sink in stainless steel with pressurised hot and cold water.  Jabsco Aqua water filter pump.  Gimballed Spinflo Nelson 1500 cooker with grill, fiddles and crash bar, new 2002.  Top-loading fridge with Danfoss BD Compressor. 
Lockers above, lockers and drawers beneath.  Some kitchen utensils.

Large chart table with chart stowage under lid and drawers beneath.  Additional chart locker behind.   Instrument rack and shelves above (navigation and communications equipment listed separately).  Work surface and locker behind with DC electrical distribution panel showing engine hours, fresh water and fuel gauges, and battery monitors.  In passageway is a second top-loading fridge compartment with locker above.

Double berth to starboard with passage making berth to port, battery and long term stowage beneath berths, lockers and shelves for stowage above.  En suite heads and shower compartment with hot and cold water, wash hand basin, fully refurbished Baby Blake Head, shower and stowage in lockers above and beneath basin.

The current and third owner of PILGRIM purchased her in 2006 from a Scandinavian Yachtsman who kept her on the Hamble River.

The spend on PILGRIM between 2006 - 2014 has put her in outstanding condition.  New decks, rebuilt engine, air conditioning, new generator, second fridge, LED bulbs throughout, Maxprop feathering propeller, fans in all cabins, annual servicing, used during summer months only.  She has been stored ashore each year since 2006.
