I have owned Rudy since 2005. Initially I kept her in Dartmouth but soon moved her to Salcombe. Most of my sailing has been relatively local - Dartmouth, Yealm River, Fowey and Helford River for long weekends and holidays. She is also great for day sailing. Regularly I have my son and his friends out to sail then anchor in a sunny cove for lunch..
She is a lovely boat to sail. Like a big dinghy on the tiller. The main is quite big for the rig so as the wind approaches F5 the first reef is needed but under reef she is really well balanced with full genoa. She is really easy to handle. I have her on a buoy in Ox bay. I go out on my own all the time especially when I was working from our home in Salcombe. Sometimes I would simply motor out the come back under genoa , I have a Raymarine tillermate which makes short handed sailing easy.
Everybody that knows boats and have sailed with me are surprised at how sea kindly she is, and she is quite quick.
