Very well-enclosed wrap-around cockpit with rail and seating topped in teak. There is a deep storage locker providing access to rear of engine and steering gear and a shallow locker for storage. A self draining gas locker is located at the after end of he cockpit. White painted steering pedestal with grab bar housing a Ritchie compass, wood steering wheel and engine controls (cables replaced 2014). Protection from spray hood and Bimini forming a fully enclosed cockpit, with windows and removable side panels. Clear, wide decks with low bulwarks provide unobstructed movement from forward to after ends. Ample on-deck storage lockers.

Cabo Ricos’ are renowned for their teak joinery - not the dark finish of European yachts but the soft, honey tones of Central American teak. All furnishings and bulkheads are of Central American teak. All upholstery and cushions were professionally replaced in 2007 with high quality foam and marine fabrics. Dual stainless steel sinks (new 2007) fitted with a hot and cold mixer tap and a separate foot pump manual tap. A 20 litre boiler (ATI BB1912, new 2007) is fitted below the sinks with 230v shore power element and engine calorifier feed. A Jabsco parmax 1.9 pressure pump operates the fresh water system. A new SMEV gas, all stainless steel, cooker with 2 burners, grill and oven was fitted in 2007. The gas system was replaced in 2007 with dual gas bottles, isolating solenoid and changeover regulator. This is located in the cockpit gas locker. Chest refrigerator is located forward of the cooker with Isotherm compressor, mounted in the deep cockpit locker.
LED lighting is employed throughout.

A heavy duty teak laminated bowsprit is through bolted to the deck and supported by 10mm and 8mm 1x19 stainless steel stays.
A Quick 800W horizontal windlass, new in 2012, is powered through heavy duty cables leading aft to the alternator and house batteries.
A 20kg CQR anchor is mounted on the bowsprit. 75 metres of quality 8mm chain (new 2015) drops directly into the anchor locker (accessible through the V berth). The drop is adequate to ensure trouble free raising of the anchor without tangling the chain. A second mounting is available for another anchor.

Major refit and overhaul in 2007 included complete replacement of electrical wiring and plumbing. All equipment, domestic, safety and navigational was replaced. This included sinks, water heater, cooker, taps, toilet and shower, pumps, instruments, accommodation fans, battery and shore power, engine, gearbox, shaft and seals, propeller, sails and rigging.
All bright work was taken back to bare wood and re-varnished both on deck and accommodation. Teak laid decks were leveled and re-caulked. All lockers both internal and external were cleaned, refurbished and repainted. Rudder was dropped checked and serviced. All fuel lines were replaced with safety compliant pipes and engine compartment sound proofing replaced. Fuel tanks were drained and cleaned.
Cabo Rico hulls are moulded in solid glass with non structural ½” balsa layer laminated inside as insulation. Massively strong through-bolted hull deck joint with substantial bulwarks and teak capping rail. Combine all this with an elegant sheer rising to a fine clipper bow and you have a vessel which will provide effortless passage making and command attention in any anchorage.
New 2007 a 75 hp Yanmar 4JH4TE diesel with new transmission, new prop shaft, new HSS dripless stern seal and three bladed bronze prop. Gear and speed control cables replaced 2014. Economical
