Broom - 29 Hardtop

Calluva 2 is a very tidy example of this popular inland river cruiser, benefiting from a wheelhouse hardtop with a sunroof. This extends the accommodation to the entire length of the boat especially with the modified canvas canopy fitted to the rear cockpit.

Manufacturer Provided Description

The Broom 29cl is the result of research showing that many Broom owners begin their boating on inland waterways, progressing to sea in easy stages. With this design criteria foremost, Broom set about building a range specially designed for the transition from river to coast. The 29cl is a medium-powered displacement cruiser ideally suited to the inland waterways of Europe but with the capability to go estuary cruising. The large keel and rudder provide excellent handling qualities. Designed by Andrew Wolstenholme, the 29 has a large open cockpit with wrap-around seating,


Forward Cabin

A rarity in craft of this size, the 29 offers a full size fixed double berth with a good sized are for changing and close on 6' headroom, yet stowage is not compromised and is offered by the way of a 3/4 dwardrobe, 2 drawers under the berth and a vanity unit with a cupboard and further drawer, the side windows open and a misted overhead hatch all give a tremendously spacious feeling

Toilet & shower room

Again a sizable are for a 29' craft, fully moulded in light grey so easily kept clean and offering a practical area featuring an opening window, storage cupboard, separate shower unit and recently renewed toilet.


The central area of the boat with a comfortable L shape sofa to starboard which converts to a double berth also a table which is easily removed can be located and around which 4 can sit. Aft of this 2 cupboards of 3/4 depth, the saloon is open plan to the wheelhouse and separated by 2 steps, this ensures the airiness of the boat is not compromised by small areas being closed in.


Open plan to the saloon but set to the port side, of L shape design with excellent amenities by the way of a combined oven/grill/hob, fridge and sink. The finish is all in matching light oak to blend into the saloon area.

Wheelhouse / Cockpit

This being the region where most of your time aboard will no doubt be spent, the wheelhouse has the helm to port and a co pilot seat to starboard, both can be fully rotated to become part of the aft cockpit when moored up. Separated by aluminium opening doors and the cockpit featuring a seat to port and starboard with access both to the bathing platform and side decks, a table amidships for alfresco eating, ample stowage within these seats and in the lazerette below. The wheelhouse hard top is fitted with a large sunroof and opening windows to either side, thus enabling the boat to be canopy free in fine weather, offer protection  or openness to the elements depending on individual tastes.


The Broom 29 is designed as a family friendly boat with easy access to the side decks via the cockpit, excellent handrails mounted to the wheelhouse roof and cabin top and forward a large flat forward deck for relaxing which is surrounded by a sturdy stainless steel pulpit rail.Aft a moulded bathing platform is part of the boat and on Calluva all exterior deck areas are covered by imitation teak giving an air of class and offering safe non slip walkways in any weather.
