Mainship - 400 Trawler
- Stock #067186 -
This vessel was SOLD on November 4.
UPDATE: August just dropped the Price again! Owners MUST SELL. MOTIVATED!
This yacht was built as a demo for the company to take to yacht shows for display, so it was loaded with extras. The current owner purchased this 2004 400 Trawler in 2006 and has had the boat since and had 65 hours when purchased. You can classify this boat as a one owner. They are selling to downsize and get back into fishing again. The owner has enjoyed this boat for many reasons; economical to run, the ride is unbelievable, the airy and open feeling of the boat with the large waist high windows gives unobstructed 360 degree views of the water, and self sufficiency that this yacht offers.
I was overwhelmingly impressed with the condition of this yacht. I could see it gleaming from a distance. Every inch of this vessel is shiny, clean and spotless. If someone told me this is a brand new yacht, I would believe them. The creamy yellow hull and decks are gleaming. Stepping aboard and into the cockpit you are greeted by a huge open entry which has many configurations and full screens. You can fully open the stainless steel doorway and have an expansive 5' unobstructed opening, or close it up and use one door. That impressed me to be able to fully open up the boat. Walking around a trawler is a different feeling from other yachts you feel safe and secure with the railings and walkways, even while underway you can easily navigate going to the bow in 4' seas. This is a very stable yacht!
Walking into the salon on the left is a cream leather love seat which are actually two recliners. This is opposite the 21" flat screen TV and stereo system. The spacious galley is on the starboard side and offers a large window at counter level to look out while preparing meals. Further forward is the helm station and opposite the helm to port is the dinette with a solid cherry table and 2 chairs facing forward with a bench seat opposite. The use of beautiful cherry wood in cabinets, drawers and helm offers a warm and elegant look of richness. In the center are steps down leading to the master stateroom, guest quarters to port and a head with enclosed shower to starboard. The sole of the boat with the exception of the staterooms (in carpeting) are covered in "Everware" flooring in traditional teak and holly pattern. This was an optional upgrade and makes sense in a yacht. The two zone Marine Air 2 x's 16,000 BTU (32,000BTU Total) with reverse cycle keeps you comfortable.
The galley runs along the starboard side of the vessel and features a double stainless steel undermount sink with Corian counter tops, GE microwave, AC/DC refrigerator freezer, hidden counter top trash bin and beautiful cherry cabinets and drawers, not to mention the counter height window in front of the sink for great views and added light.
The lower helm features a sold cherry wheel, numerous controls as well as a Raytheon C-80 GPS, radar and plotter.
The engine room is accessed through two hinged floor panels. The lighted engine compartment is large and spacious and easily accessible. The compartment was so spotless and the engine so clean it looked as if it had never been started or run. The cleanest engine compartment I have ever seen. You can easily move around down there and have plenty of room. It is a Yanmar diesel engine, model 6LY-ASTP, 370 HP and has lower hours at 534, which has averaged only 48 hours/year. The Kohler model 8E02, generator 8KW, will run everything on the boat it is diesel and has 430 hours. The owner says that at cruising speed of approx 8.5 MPH the engine only burns 2.7 gallons/hour! Talk about economical!
The master stateroom has a center line queen island berth with plenty of storage below. It has two opening ports and a large hatch with screen and shade cover. A starboard hanging cedar lined locker and port cedar lined locker with two compartments, a private access to the head and a carpeted sole.
The head features an upgraded fresh water flush system with it's own separate 15 gallon water supply designed by the owner. It offers a Corian counter top, stainless steel sink with storage below, mirror, separate closed off shower compartment with full fiberglass liner, built in seat and folding door. Additionally it offers an AC vent, water tank gauge, opening port with screen overhead hatch w/screen keeping it nice and light and well ventilated.
The guest stateroom to port has two bunks with a carpeted sole. Hanging cedar lined locker, two overhead storage compartments, single opening port w/screen, overhead hatch w/screen and an A/C vent.
Heading up top, accessed by molded non-skid steps with a SS handrail, the deck is entirely non-skid as well. The bridge is well laid out with a center helm seat. The entire bridge is fully enclosed by a large Bimini top and clear eisenglass. As a note, for whatever the reason it comes with 3 sets of eisenglass, 1 set is up and in great condition, one other set has never been used and stored on the boat and there is an additional set that came with the boat which is in good to fair condition. That's a real value! There is seating galore for at least 6-8 adults on the bridge with a fold down center table with two folding top sections for multiple configurations. The upper helm station has a SS steering wheel, Throttle, full compliment of engine gauges, trim tab controls, circuit breakers, Danforth compass, bilge pump controls, windlass, generator and navigation lights. Electronics include: Raytheon S-70, GPS, Radar and Plotter, Fishfinder, Tri-data; for depth, speed and temperature.
Aft of the bridge is a small seating area with pedestal table and the summer kitchen. This includes a Gen Air propane grille and stainless steel sink and ice maker. The U-line ice maker is not working as of this spring. The new owner can replace the ice maker if they require, it has water and power to the unit. There are plenty of areas on this yacht to get your own space; the front bow area, the bridge, the aft seating area off the bridge, the dinette, the recliners and the cockpit area. The AH-HA moment for me was the feeling of openness that the salon offers with the huge windows and unobstructed views that I have never had on any other boat. It is open, light and airy. The owners have protective canvass to cover the windows when stored or heat protection. It is a nice feature.
In the cockpit area there is a transom door and a few rocket launchers, a large swim platform, dingy side storage, folding boarding steps port and starboard, transom storage box with fresh water wash down, more storage under the steps, lazzarette access via large deck hatch, dockside pressure water fitting, shore power and bracket holding the 6HP Yamaha outboard.
This is the best example I have even seen of a "Pride of Ownership" boat. You have to see this beautiful trawler for yourself. If you are in the market for a gorgeous yacht that obviously has been immaculately and pristinely maintained don't let this one get away!
