Lochin - 40 AMERICANO FLY-DECK
A fine example of the Lochin marque where the owner required the known qualities of the hull form and performance, to which he added his personal design. The result is a very superior internal design prepared to a high standard of professional workmanship. Recently reduced in price to encourage an early sale.

From Aft: The self-draining COCKPIT measures approx. 3.96m/13 ft long by 3.35m/11 ft wide - with a non-slip coating. The coamings are teak laid, with rails and flush mounted stainless steel rod holders. Across the stern rod holders are fitted and lbases for two Penn down-riggers. The flush-fitted Cockpit hatches give access to the steering gear and emergency tiller spaces. Sea-water seacocks - each with glass-top water strainers - provide cooling water to both engines and generator. Two forward hatches provide access to the main engines - each with steel 'chequer tread plate' surround and access to all main service points. 'Top-side', the Foredeck is via the sidedecks, - again coated with grey gritted-gel non-slip - and aided by the side & pulpit rails. The Flybridge, is accessed via a Stbd angled ladder with teak treads. Fixed bench seating - togehter with is found to both Port and Starboard, with the centrally positioned Helm, positioned forward, together with duplicated engine controls and repeated navigation equipment. A substantial stainless steel gantry over-head supports all the navigation lights, antennae etc. Returning to the COCKPIT, a central two-piece teak Cockpit door, provides access to the helm position - forward to Port at a raised level and equipped with a suspension seat. The listed navigation equipment and displays are directed to the Helm - together with the engine controls and instrumentation. Aft of the Helm - to Stbd - is a large L-shaped settee. A single matching seat is just aft of the Helm. The whole area is well appointed and offers considerable comfort for up to six persons. A curved companionway to Std leads to the Galley and the Heads. Ahead - the Fore-cabin offers four berths - by use of the the generous flair of the bows providing tiered berths without the 'closed-in' effect. The Fore-cabin offers the following: Number of Heads: 1. Shower(s): 1. Hot Water: Yes..... and Cabin Heating: Yes.
Stainless steel (s/s) Pulpit rails - with bow extension and a hinged section aft giving access to the side decks - both sides of the craft. Cockpit side and grab rails continue to enclose the deck areas.
The Flybridge ladder - with teak treads - continues with surround rails including the screen rail. A 2-tier gantry mast is fitted over, carrying antennea, navigation lights, etc. There are seven s/s adjustable rod-holders, 4 flush-mounted s/s rod holders and 2 Penn down-rigger mounts.
The Fore-deck has a bow roller, mounted on a protection plate together with two stainless steel fairleads. The anchor chain passes over the self-stowing bow roller. A protection plate is fitted to the hull stem. The chain is lead to the S-L Sprint 1506 electric winch. A 30Kg Bruce anchor is fitted. Stainless steel deck scuppers clear the Cockpit and the three engine exhaust outlets have stainless steel flaps, allowing discharge without sea-water ingress.
Heavy duty rubber 'D' fendering is fitted all round at gunwhale level, providing protection when going along-side either 'harbour walls' or 'attending craft'.
'........with knowledge of the high quality level of the Lochin build, I was anxious to see the fit-out to be equal to that standard. Of particular selecton of the CATERPILLAR marine diesel engines and the Twin-Disc gearboxes. These, too, have performed well. Whether at sea with a small crew - or with the full family and 'awkward' seas, we have always had confidence afloat. With less time and the crew growing up, we are looking to find a 'new owner' and know the enjoyment of the quality build and fit-out will not be changed.
Known to the Broker from the 'build-record'. A fine example of the combination of Lochin build-quality and owner's fit-out, providing exceptional comfort for offshore passage-making, enjoyment of an effortless day at sea for some fishing!....or just 'going-alongside'. Worth consideration if looking for a Lochin built craft, fitted out to a high standard for the first and subsequent owners.
