This Westerly Seahawk was built by Westerly Yachts in 1985 and designed by Ed Dubois. The 34ft yacht is spacious and comfortable making her an ideal family cruiser that comes into her own in big seas. In her present ownership she has been cruised widely in Irish and Scottish waters having just been as far north as the Pentland Firth.
The Seahawk design is noted for the accommodation which compares favourably with most 40 footers. There is full standing headroom throughout the accommodation. The spacious saloon has comfortable seating and a drop leaf table. The L shaped galley is situated on the port side and is equipped with a two burner cooker with oven and grill, a fridge and a double sink. The aft facing chart table is located on the starboard side tucked in at the bottom of the companionway.
There are up to seven berths in three cabins with a large owners aft cabin which is as big and well appointed as you could wish. It has a large double berth, a seating area and wash basin in vanity unit. The fore cabin offers a double berth with a separate heads compartment adjacent, with a hanging locker opposite. In addition there are three settee berths available in the saloon.
On deck all control lines are led aft to the centre cockpit where the sprayhood and a range of instruments are available.
The centre cockpit is sheltered and in addition there is an all over cockpit cover which can totally enclose the cockpit when required , welcome when shade or shelter is required.
A 2015 survey is available for serious enquirers. The Seahawk is the subject of a 6 page in depth review in the October 2016 Yachting Monthly. They said “If you are into safe steady drama free sailing, she should be high on your list!”
