Victoria 38 - ( USA Morris 38 )

Hull number 8 of 8 . The last Victoria 38 built.
Beautifully fitted out by Bowman Yachts. SHE HAS LESS THAN 3000 NAUTICAL MILES under her keel since being launched in 2000. This rare contemporary Bluewater classic is found in superb condition and 'Ready to Go'
The boat comes with an almost complete history which includes line drawings, manuals and receipts totalling in excess of £345,000 which record the quality of the build and craftsmanship following which the boat has been professionally maintained. Over the last two years 'Plum' has received a detailed maintenance program, servicing all aspects of her equipment with a full upgrade of electronics and safety equipment.
The Victoria 38 was designed by Chuck Paine (USA) and went into production on the American East Coast before being built in the UK. by Victoria Yachts. Sadly Victoria ceased trading although it is understood Morris Yachts will still build the 38 under commission from the same mould.
The Victoria 38 is beautiful to sail. Light on the helm and deceptively fast yet predictable and stable in heavy weather. She is easy to manoeuvre and in close quarters which is made even simpler with use of the bow thruster. She is as happy coastal cruising as she is crossing an ocean. There have been a number successfully raced on both sides of the Atlantic, turning heads in every port.
The boat is completely ready to go with all end of season work expected to be completed by the end of Nov.

YANMAR 3JH-3E. Serial No E20149
Approximate maximum hours less than 300

3 cylinder indirect cooled marine diesel engine, coupled to a conventional reduction box, shaft and stern gear.
12V / 55Amp alternator ( Serviced 2014)
Stainless steel fuel tank, fitted in keel sump

The hull is constructed in GRP, topsides are finished in the original dark blue gelcoat with a white boot top, gold cove stripe and teak capping rail.

Below the waterline has been epoxy coated from new. In 2016 all the anti-fouling was removed to epoxy and re-antifouled in white.

The hull is reinforced and stiffened internally with bonded in plywood bulkheads & part bulkheads and GRP box section stringers & frames and floors. The mast is keel stepped on fwd end of the keel on a large GRP floor. The main shroud plates (A bolts) are bolted to stainless steel angle brackets bolted to the bulkheads plus GRP hull webs.
The long fin and skeg configuration has a cast lead ballast keel bolted to a moulded GRP stub. The ballast keel is mounted to the fwd section of the fin with the aft section forming a deep bilge sump.
The hull/deck join is in the form of an internal lap, which is bonded bolted through the Teak capping strip.
The decks, coach roof and cockpit are constructed in GRP & GRP/BALSA core, finished in cream / off white gel coat. A non-slip surface is moulded in to the coachroof. The main decks and cockpit are laid in Teak with a moulded low bulwark with a Teak capping. The Teak deck is laid as swept planks. Teak decking is bonded to the GRP sub deck with fastenings used only in coverboards thus keeping 'plug maintenance' to a minimum. Teak decks in VGC

The rudder is hung on a full depth skeg.
The "Edson" wheel steering and binnacle system is fitted with a solid rod linkage to a tiller arm. An Autohelm ram drive autopilot is fitted to a second tiller arm. An emergency tiller is carried.
